Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction

The temporomandibular joint dysfunction, also known as TMJD, refers to disorders of the masticatory system, such as problems related to the masticatory muscles and the temporomandibular joints. Quite often, these problems lead to a painful cracking or grinding of the temporomandibular joint, muscle tension, increased abrasion of the teeth, limited mobility of the mandible and even dizziness and headaches. Therefore, an exact diagnosis is necessary to get to the bottom of the cause. One common cause is teeth grinding, and this can be treated with the help of grinding splints, which protect the teeth from increased abrasion and relieve the joints.
We also offer snoring splints and custom-made mouthguards which protect your teeth during sports.
